The UK stunt industry is unique in having several long-established professional organisations that represent stunt performers and maintain industry standards. StuntConnect fully recognises and respects the contribution these organisations make to the profession. We've always said StuntConnect would be built alongside the industry, never instead of it. After extensive talks with the British Stunt Register (BSR), and listening carefully to their concerns, we've decided that at launch, StuntConnect in the UK will be open to BSR members only.
Our membership verification process is built around a principle recognised by the Health and Safety Executive: that professional competence is developed through a combination of Knowledge, Understanding, Training and Experience — KUTE. StuntConnect is not a qualification or certification body, and we don't believe competence can be demonstrated through a single criterion alone. It's developed through ongoing learning, professional training, and — most importantly — experience gained working under the supervision of experienced stunt coordinators. That's why every member, whatever their BSR category, provides supporting evidence for the skills they list on their profile.
The British Stunt Register is divided into five categories of membership: Probationary; Stunt Performer; Senior Stunt Performer; Key Stunt Performer; Full Member/ Stunt Co-ordinator. All categories can apply for verification on StuntConnect. Applicants must provide:
We know this means performers who aren't on the register won't be able to join in the UK at launch. That wasn't an easy call. Talks are ongoing, and we'll share news as soon as we have it.
StuntConnect is not a qualification or certification. Our objective is to ensure every member has been appropriately vetted before joining the platform. In the UK, BSR members have already been vetted through membership of a recognised UK stunt organisation, and we acknowledge that process. We don't want to work around the structures that protect this industry. We want to build with them.
BSR membership is treated as an already-completed vetting process — not duplicated, just confirmed.
